Our Story

The history of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church began officially in April of 1992. And for over 25 years of God's grace, the growing group of believers at Christ Our Savior has flourished in this community on the basis of these Biblical principles:

We Are…

a Biblical church who hold God's Word revealed to us in the Holy Scriptures as first place in our faith and lives. We base our understanding of the Bible on what God says - no additions, no subtractions. (Deut. 4:2)

We Are...

a Christian church that gathers to praise God (Psalm 35:18), to be strengthened by his Word and sacraments (Psalm 46:1), and to encourage one another in our lives of faith (1 Thess. 5:11).

We Are…

a Lutheran church, joining in fellowship with the WELS. We share the mission statement stated by our synod:

As men, women, and children united in faith and worship by the Word of God, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod exists to make disciples throughout the world for time and for eternity, using the gospel in word and sacrament to win the lost for Christ and to nurture believers for lives of Christian service, all to the glory of God.

What We Believe

The Bible:

We believe that the Bible is God's very Word, written down by the apostles of Jesus and the prophets (2 Tim. 3:16).

+ + +

We believe that we fall short of God's perfect standard of holiness (Romans 3:23). Therefore, we needed a Savior. Jesus is that Savior, and salvation is found only in Jesus Christ, our Savior (Acts 4:11-12). Jesus dying on the cross and rising from the dead is the epitome of God's saving work for his people (Romans 3:24).

+ + +

The Church:

We believe that the Church consists of all people who have been brought to faith in Christ, our Savior. Therefore we operate as the body of Christ, who is the head over all things (Colossians 1:18). As the body we seek to carry out his Great Commission to make disciples of all nations through use of the Word and Sacraments (Matthew 28:19).

We completely understand that much of this information might be new to you...and may even sound strange. We encourage all people to join us every Sunday morning to hear more about the love of Christ, our Savior. If you would like more information about what we believe, Christ Our Savior periodically offers a Bible 101 class focusing on the key teachings of God's Word. Contact us for more details.
